Rustowski's real name is Rustan Svensson. Born in 1987, in a small city called Linkoping, in Sweden.
The artistic alter ego 'Rustowski', he took as a kid. It's kind of a tribute to his grandfather, Marian Barcikowski, who was, and is, a great artistic inspiration of his. Marian painted throughout his entire life. Against all odds he survived the holocaust in Poland only to continue to paint in Sweden and in Paris for the rest of his life.
When you think about that, one can only realize how important it is for a creative mind to continue to pursue the passion and to do the creative things he or she loves in life. For Rustowski, this means drawing, painting, designing and building. When he's not working as an engineer and a designer creating firefighting equipment he does other creative things, such as painting.
In this digital gallery you will find some of his more recent acrylic creations on linen canvases that he has made during the past decade.
The Artist's Own Words About His Art
"For me, every painting represents a feeling, an event or a statement, or all three of them combined. I think of my paintings as memories of my mind, graphical entries in a diary, or perhaps even time capsules of my soul.
Therefore, the paintings are usually very personal and often with a long story behind them. A story, I for now, leave up to the viewer's imagination."
